It’s not About Being Skinny, it’s About Being Strong, Flexible, and Confident.
I’d like to introduce you to Tara. Tara started yoga at It's All Yoga 14 1/2 years ago, a week after she moved to Sacramento. She's been doing the Strength + Stretch classes for the past three years (and says they are the "only workout routine" she has stayed with).
Prior to starting the strength classes here, Tara had "done it all," but didn't respond well to the "supporting by yelling" approach or the fast pace, jumping up on things or flipping heavy ropes.
"Too much for my body and my nervous system."
Tara is a huge supporter of the studio and I'm excited for you to meet her... and her workout buddy, Winston!
Compared to other things you've done, why are these workouts different?
“I’ve had personal trainers, gone to boot camps, done the gym thing and done various classes over the course of many years and S+S has been the one that I have enjoyed the most, stayed with the longest and have felt and seen my body change more than anything else.”
Even with an injury?
Tara has had a shoulder "issue" for a couple of years and still shows up and is able to participate in the workouts.
“I love ALL the variety and the modifications we’re encouraged to use... while also being challenged to push through our own mental blocks.
The way you teach, there are SO MANY options a person can do without using the part that is hurt... and the parts that aren’t hurt will be SO THANKFUL.”
What difference have these classes made in your life?
Tara has a BIG dog. And is very resourceful when she gets locked out of her house!
“I can lift a 30lb bag of dog food and get it up the stairs.
I can also climb thru my window when I lock myself out of my house ☺️
I also notice my balance is more....balanced... and I trust my body more when I’m leaning to grab something just out of reach. I even noticed it when I went paddle boarding recently after taking an extended break from it.”
How do you feel about your body these days?
Compared to "before?"
“I appreciate it more. My body feels stronger and I see more muscle definition which is encouraging. It’s not about being skinny, it’s about being strong, flexible and confident.”
What's to love about working out with It's All Yoga?
“I SOOO appreciate Michelle’s thoughtful, educated, curation of each class as well as the various monthly themes she incorporates. 🫶💪🙌”
