Imagining Your Life Without

Did you know that studies have found that imagining your life without something you are grateful for, as opposed to just feeling grateful for it, has an even greater impact on your emotional well-being?

It's a pretty cool exercise.

You can read the full description and find the podcast it comes from here.

I've done this inquiry many times, about many things and people in my life. Consistently, the most profound topic is yoga... and specifically the It's All Yoga studio.

It's hard to imagine my life and who I would be now if I hadn't taken that first yoga class... if I had gone to aerobics instead. Or years later, if I hadn't lived on 11th Avenue where a vacancy came up in the quirky building down the street. Or if we hadn't opened that studio (because lord knows we didn't know what we were getting into!).

I wouldn't be doing this, I wouldn't know you, I would have missed out on so much. That other life would be full, I'm sure. But wow, am I ever grateful for this one.

Try the exercise -- it will be revealing.

With gratitude,
