A Free Class and Beautiful Questions

When I take Pearl for walks (full moon walk in photo at top), I love to listen to podcasts. Usually I listen to business podcasts, but lately I've been enjoying a break and listening to something fun.

Last week I listened to David Whyte on On Being, where he talks, in part, about asking Beautiful Questions.

"The ability to ask beautiful questions — often in very un-beautiful moments — is one of the great disciplines of a human life. A beautiful question starts to shape your identity as much by asking it as it does by having it answered. And you don’t have to do anything about it, you just have to keep asking."

As he describes them, Beautiful Questions enlarge the context in which we live and take us out of ourselves and into ourselves at the same time.

So, what is a beautiful question to ask?

Well, it's different for each of us. It's your question.

It's likely a question you're not asking, so the first question might be, What question am I refusing to ask? What am I circling around or refusing to look at? Pause with that for a moment...

I do have a short list of potent questions that might be a good starting place. If you would like them, reply to this and I'll send them to you.

I'll leave you with this one: How cared for and loved does your body feel?

If it calls you, I hope to see you in class on Friday!
